Fine food and wine. The French consistently

at three Michelin-starred restaurants, we well as the renowned wines of the
Médoc, Bordeaux's chief winegrowing region, and of St. Emilion.
Brantôme. This animated village on the banks of the
Drônne River is home to an abbey founded by Charlemagne in 769 A.D.
Sarlat-la-Canéda. Considered the most beautiful grouping
of medieval buildings in all of Europe, and possibly France's best outdoor
market. You'll never forget Sarlat at night, by the light of antique gas
lamps.
Lascaux II. Gaze in awe at an uncanny replica of the most exquisite
cave art ever discovered the 17,000-year-old paintings of Lascaux
Cave.
Les Eyzies. In this town, known as "the Center of Pre-history,"
we tour Font-de-Gaume, the cave with the best prehistoric art still available
for public viewing.
Domme. Explore the prettiest village in the Dordogne, with its
clifftop terrace overlooking a vista of river, hills and tobacco fields.
St. Emilion. We savor world-class food and wine in this fabled
village. Marvel at the mystical church carved out of living rock.
