Brantôme. This animated village on the banks of the Drônne River is home to an abbey founded by Charlemagne in 769 A.D.

Sarlat-la-Canéda. Considered the most beautiful grouping of medieval buildings in all of Europe, and possibly France's best outdoor market. You'll never forget Sarlat at night, by the light of antique gas lamps.

Lascaux II. Gaze in awe at an uncanny replica of the most exquisite cave art ever discovered – the 17,000-year-old paintings of Lascaux Cave.

Les Eyzies. In this town, known as "the Center of Pre-history," we tour Font-de-Gaume, the cave with the best prehistoric art still available for public viewing.

Domme. Explore the prettiest village in the Dordogne, with its clifftop terrace overlooking a vista of river, hills and tobacco fields.

St. Emilion. We savor world-class food and wine in this fabled village. Marvel at the mystical church carved out of living rock.
